About Us

The idea of FIT MUM  came to me when I became pregnant with my first baby, back in 2008. Having been passionately involved in fitness and wellness all my life, I was surprised at how difficult it was to find a proper way and a ‘feel good’ place to exercise safely during my pregnancy and later on as a mum.

So I focused on researching the best way for me and the growing baby in my tummy to be and stay fit and healthy. I practiced yoga, relaxation and meditation and appropriate aerobic workouts. I was determined to have a powerful delivery experience. I wanted to be in control and prepared and in the best possible mental and physical shape for the big day….When the time came, everything went so quickly…… I didn’t even realize and I was back at home with my new born baby, with the feeling of having achieved my goal!

Soon, my son was growing and along with him, similarly fast, my need for a physical workout, not only for fitness, but also as something I do just for me. I made the decision to create a way for new mums like myself to have access to specialised support and training during such an important stage in their lives.

It has been 5 years,I have two children now and I find that I have gained not only a career I truly enjoy, but a community of happy and healthy mums who are always striving to be the best they can be for themselves and their babies.

Haven Therapies

Here at Haven Therapies we believe that health is not simply the absence of disease or pain. It is a state of balance and harmony between the body and mind. A healthy person should be able to respond to events such as accidents, physical trauma, infections or emotional stress, but a lasting strain often remains.

Gradually the body may find it more and more difficult to cope with the accumulated stresses. Craniosacral Therapy Osteopathy, ReflexologyPhysical Therapy and Pulsed Signal Therapy treatments help to restore the body to optimum health.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is so gentle that it is suitable for babieschildren, the elderly, as well as adults. Craninosacral can aid almost any condition, raising vitality and improving the body’s capacity for self-repair. CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called The Craniosacral System – comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

Osteopathy recognizes the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions. Osteopaths focus on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and internal organs function as a holistic unit. The osteopathic philosophy is to treat the person as a whole, not just the specific symptoms. By improving the function of the whole body, osteopathy helps to stimulate the body’s own self-healing /self-regulating processes, aiding a return to health.
Reflexology is a holistic, non-invasive therapy that uses the feet to treat the whole body. The theory is that the entire body is “mapped” onto the soles of the feet. By using pressure techniques on selected reflex areas on the feet, the Reflexologist can detect any imbalances in the corresponding organ or system. The Reflexologist can then work on the reflex area, stimulating the body’s own healing processes, in order to restore homeostasis or Balance. In Haven Therapies we offer Reflexology treatment for babies and childrenpregnancy and cancer patients.
Haven Therapies has been established for 5 years in Swords… albeit Colette, Jennifer and Aisling have a combined 30 years experience in multiple therapies.  To find out which modality may suit you, please check out  www.haventherapies.ie or phone on 0871904600.
